Why is my vendor’s delivery method single-use virtual card?

  • Updated

You’re scheduling a payment to a vendor and see their delivery method is set to a single-use virtual card (SUVC). This article explains what that means.

There are a couple of possible reasons your vendor’s delivery method is now SUVC:

  1. Your vendor opted-in or chose SUVC when asked their preferred delivery method. If they selected it when asked their preferred delivery method, you'll get an email letting you know. If your vendor chose SUVC as a delivery method—you as the customer can’t change it.
  1. You chose SUVC as a delivery method when scheduling a payment. If they accepted, subsequent payments to them will be delivered by SUVC until one of you selects a different delivery method.

What’s a single-use virtual card?

A single-use virtual card is an efficient payment delivery method that's become popular with vendors. They likely signed up because SUVC’s are faster, more secure and make reconciliation easier.

The card is delivered via email and your vendor can ONLY process it with a Point-of-sale (POS) terminal, as they would with any other credit or debit card payment.

Does this affect how I pay?

No. This only affects how your vendor receives payment. You don’t need to take any action. If your vendor wants to receive payment a different way, they can submit a request or email support@qbousers.meliopayments.com.

If your vendor has more questions about single-use virtual cards, you can also send them this article.
